EPMD Art Project
Thursday, Dec. 11 2008
Last week,I wrapped up this piece for the EPMD Art Project that coincides with the release of EPMD's latest album, We Mean Business. The event was held in New York at the Santos Party House, and all the art pieces at the show are going to be up for auction. All the proceeds will benefit the Brooklyn-based charity, Groundswell Community Mural Project. All this translates to the following: If you want this one-of-a-kind, hand done pen & ink drawing that I did in honor of EPMD, you should check back soon because I'll be posting the details and link to the online auction when it goes live. Plus, it's good karma.
Back to Work...

It's back to work here at the Hersk Husky Ranch. Just dropped some new (and old) paintings in the shop just in time for your holiday shopping. Also, it was good seeing the Golds down in LA this past weekend...
Happy Thanksgiving

Wishing all of you a happy turkey day...I'm back in Albany for the annual Herskovitz weigh-in. Check out the inside of my parents' fridge: 4 cartons of half-n-half, a bunch of cheese, and two dozen eggs (among many, many, MANY other things). Oh, you need a detail shot? OK, here:

By the way, I've already had three turkey sandwiches in the time that it took you to read this.

Ever since moving to the burbs, driving in LA really sucks.
Especially on a Saturday afternoon when there's been a shitty accident on the 134 E and you're sitting at a
complete standstill for a solid half-hour. We spent the time batting around some ideas for future projects and
gloating over our new Jonathan Adler mugs.
FYI, they are fucking awesome and will probably be our favorites soon, knocking out the top-seeded San Diego Zoo mugs which are big enough to bathe in.
A few things we noticed today while out and about: the Beverly Center was dead,
Melrose Ave. had more FOR LEASE signs than we've ever seen in all the years we've lived in LA, and more people were at the Grove for celebrity sightings than shopping. It really brought to focus the extent of how shitty our economy has become.
Anyway. Here's a project from a few months back: Rip Curl Europe asked me to participate in the Artist for the Search collaboration, and I'm pretty happy with the end product...
Check it all out here.
Welcome to the new site...
Thursday, Nov. 20 2008
It's been a long time coming, but we finally managed to pull together a new site...just in time for the Apartment Therapy LA Thursday Giveaway. Can't wait til Monday for a freebie? Download this Hersk-approved icon of Sam the Eagle. Like El Hersko, he's grumpy, and even more importantly: bald.
But stay tuned: in the coming weeks, we'll be adding more content to the site and the shop. And updating this blog much more frequently.
